HAWAII SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER NETWORK: POLICIES ONLINE

Consulting

Geographical Coverage of Consulting

The first priority of the Hawai`i SBDC Network is to provide its services to the entire geographical area of the state of Hawai`i.  This policy is largely fulfilled by having located centers on each of the four major islands, plus having located a second center on the island of Hawai`i.  The balance of the geographical coverage mandate is achieved through active outreach to rural communities using satellite centers at which consultants provide counseling on a regular, systematic basis, whether that is once per week or twice per month or whatever meets a communitys need and is within budget.  Each center should strive to create outreach programs.

Once the first priority of geographical coverage of the state is achieved, then the priority for additional consulting shifts to statewide programs and greater coverage to high population centers, such as Honolulu.
