Center directors annually receive a budget for contracted consultants (sometimes referred to as outside consultants). These consultants, working under contract (as opposed to be being staff), are normally engaged in order to provide specific expertise, to fulfill demand for additional consulting, and to work with a specific client for a defined reason. It is the responsibility of the center director to engage qualified contracted consultants, to manage them and their case load, and to ensure quality service.
