It is the policy of the Hawai`i SBDC Network, in compliance with RCUH policy, to maintain strict confidentiality of human resources information. The sensitivity and personal nature of this information must be protected. Personnel files are maintained by Network Services in the State Office and by RCUH�s Human Resources Department. These files may be accessed only on a need-to-know basis and only by those staff who are performing an essential position function. Any breach of confidentiality will result in a penalty to include, but not be limited to, reprimand, suspension of employment, and/or termination of employment.
Requests for salary confirmation or other confidential information about current and former staff are to be referred to the director of Network Services or the state director for response. Specific information will only be released following receipt of written approval from the staff person.
Complaints of sexual harassment, requests for alternative dispute resolution (ADR), actions filed with RCUH or the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) or similar entities will be kept confidential to the extent appropriate and possible.
