Hawai`i SBDC Network Named National Reseller
of Resource SchedulerTM
Web-based Application Provides Integrated Scheduling Functions
RedESoft Corporation, Traverse City, Michigan recently named the Hawai`i SBDC Network as a national reseller of it's Resource SchedulerTM software application. Resource SchedulerTM is the only web-based scheduling solution designed exclusively with business requirements in mind. With its multiple calendar and resource views, tracking and controlling resource schedules has never been easier.
The Hawai`i SBDC Network has been using the software since last October to manage personnel and equipment scheduling for its five service centers and state office located over four islands. State Director, Darryl Mleynek commented, "Since September 11th, it's become even more important to be able to identify the locations and status of our personnel. Many of our Center Directors are off-site for several hours at a time. Tracking staff whereabouts on a statewide basis prior to Resource SchedulerTM had been difficult. Resource SchedulerTM provides us with an integrated view at any point in time and increases our sense of security."
The Network runs the software on their corporate server with all Centers accessing the program over the Internet through DSL lines. Associate State Director, Rian Lau reports, "Resource SchedulerTM allowed our Centers to automate our client appointment scheduling and eliminated our shared, manual appointment booking systems. We often have consultants working out of several service centers. Now anyone can view everyone's appointments from their workstations. It's a great time-saver in our operations.
In Hawaii, Resource SchedulerTM is used in a large neighbor-island hospital. In addition to personnel scheduling the hospital has access to facility (rooms) and equipment scheduling. Schedules, as they are created can notify affected users by email as well as schedule multiple users, facilities and equipment for the same event.
The Network will be donating a portion of all Resource SchedulerTM proceeds to the ASBDC, the national umbrella organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. There are currently 56 SBDC's with over 1,000 service centers located throughout the nation and the Pacific Islands. The Hawai`i SBDC Network provides technical assistance to small businesses in Hawai`i. The Network is a cooperative partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and has been in operations since 1990.
